Aptly named Davao del Norte’s water basin, the municipality of New Corella houses a number of waterfalls and unadulterated natural springs. Among the municipality’s must-visit bodies of water is Panas Falls, situated in Panas Eco-Cultural Park—a protected area significant for Davao del Norte’s cultural and ecological heritage.

Located in Brgy. Carcor, New Corella, Davao del Norte, Philippines, Panas Eco-Cultural Park has long been a go-to place for locals to splash in its clean and refreshing water, especially during summertime.

As its name suggests, the main attraction of this eco-cultural park is Panas Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The noticeable feature of Panas Falls is the largest tier among the cascades, with a towering rock boulder draped in glistening water.

Besides that, Panas Falls also comprises complex and shallow natural cascades and pools, which everyone can swim in. Just a heads up, this place can be a bit crowded, especially during weekends and holidays.

If Panas Falls itself is flocked with tourists and locals, you can also enjoy man-made pools inside the eco-cultural park, which are equally refreshing and enjoyable as the natural pools.

Panas Eco-Cultural Park also has cottages and grilling stations scattered throughout the park. If you’re tired of swimming, you can replenish your energy with snacks and drinks offered by nearby stores. Keep in mind that there are no restaurants nearby, so if you plan to spend a day here, bring enough food with you.

If you plan to explore Davao del Norte, especially the province’s ‘water basin,’ consider Panas Eco-Cultural Park.
